‘पहाड़ और हम’

4 से 13 जनवरी 2016 (10 दिन)

युवाओं का एक ऐसा संवाद मंच है जिसमेहिमालय के युवा खुद के इलाके और अपने जीवन से जुड़े मुद्दों पर ध्यान देते हैं . एक समयबद्ध कार्यक्रम में युवाहिमालय के प्राकृतिक इलाके के विभिन्न आयामों की खोज करेंगे .इस नौ दिन के समय में हम अपने संदर्भों कोगहराई से
इस तरह से समझने की कोशिश करेंगे जिससे कि हम सम्पूर्ण  परिपेक्ष्य को समझते हुए अपनी भूमिकानिभाने में सक्षम हो सकें

यह कार्यक्रम क्यों किया जा रहा है ?

उत्तराखंड के वीरान गाँव से लेकर मरती हुई नदियाँ और हिमाचल प्रदेश के सिकुड़ते हुए ग्लेशियर और कश्मीर में राज्य के दमन तक , हिमालय का क्षेत्र पर्यावरणीय, सामाजिक आर्थिक और राजनैतिक तौर पर संकट में है. जहां एक तरफ तो यह इलाका अनोखी जैव विविधता ,संस्कृति और राजनीति की जन्म स्थली रहा है . क्या यह इतिहास आज के पहाड़ी युवाओं द्वारा पूरी तरह से समझा गया है ? या वे भी आर्थिक दौड में फंस कर इस इलाके के स्वरूप के बदल जाने से अलग थलग हो जाते हैं .

हिमालय का इलाका ना सिर्फ भारतीय उप महाद्वीप में अनोखा है बल्कि पूरे दक्षिण एशिया में अपनी अनोखी इलाकाई राजनैतिक विशेषताओं में विशेष है . बदलता हुआ मौसम, घटते हुए जंगल, खतरे में परम्पराएं, जो इस इलाके की पहचानें हैं उनको सरकार द्वारा ज़मीन जंगल नदियों के संसाधन को मुनाफा कमाने के स्रोत के रूप में देखना. इसलिए यह बहुत ज़रूरी है कि युवा पीढ़ी एक मंच पर एक साथ आकर अपनी समझ को मिल कर साफ़ बना सकें .

प्रक्रिया

एक ऐसा मंच जहां बातचीत , चर्चाएँ , क्रिया कलाप मैदानी भ्रमण, श्रमदान , खुले स्थान और मौन आदि माध्यमों  से इतिहास , संस्कृति ,पर्यावरण , अर्थव्यवस्था हमारी पहचान और विकास के स्वरूप, विविधता और संदर्भ को खोजा जाएगा .

– हिमालय क्षेत्र में शिक्षा का सवाल
-खेती,पशुपालन, वानिकी
-पहाड़ों में भवन निर्माण कला
-पहाड़ी भोजन
-भाषाएँ ,बोलियां
– पोशाकें , कपड़े
– नृत्य ,संगीत
– पहचान

कौन भाग ले सकता है ?

हिमालय क्षेत्र में रहने वाले व्यक्ति / समूह , राजनैतिक राज्यों के प्रतिनिधी के रूप में ही नहीं बल्कि छोटे सामजिक – सांस्कृतिक समूह जैसे हिमाचल के लाहौल स्पीति , लद्दाख , भूटान , उत्तराखंड , सिक्किम , अरुणाचल प्रदेश, कश्मीर और पाकिस्तान से हो सकते हैं

कार्यक्रम का शुल्क : रूपये 6000/-  (इस व्यय में आपके संभावना तक आने जाने तथा आपके मैदानी कार्य के स्थल तक आने जाने एवं वहाँ होने वाले आपके व्यय सम्मिलित नही हैं . फीस न दे पाने को इस कार्यक्रम में शामिल न होने की वजह ना बनने दीजिए .आप पूर्ण शुल्क मुक्ति अथवा आंशिक शुल्क मुक्ति में से किसी भी विकल्प को फ़ार्म में चुन सकते हैं )

Rethinking Development in the Himalayas

A workshop for youth from the Himalayan States
4th to 13th January 2016

Are you a young person living and/or working in the Himalayas? Do you want to understand your context deeply and strengthen your relationship with your region and its people? Are you looking to connect with other pahari youth? Do you seek to explore and reflect on your own identity as a pahari? Do you think its time to rethink on issues of development in the Himalayas? If yes consider becoming a part of ‘Pahar Aur Hum’.

Pahar Aur Hum is a 10 day workshop for young people concerned with the Himalayan region to understand and reflect collaboratively and deeply on the issues facing the region and themselves.

Why this program?

From the ghost villages of Uttarakhand to the dying rivers and receding glaciers of Himachal Pradesh and state repression in a state like Kashmir – the Himalayan region is in crisis – ecological, socio-economic and political. While at the same time its diverse landscape has been the cradle in which a unique ecology, culture, society and polity evolved historically. Is this history adequately understood by the youth in the mountains or are they getting more and more alienated from it as the landscape changes drastically in the race for more economic growth.

The Himalayan region not just in the Indian subcontinent but across South Asia, with its geo-political specificities today faces its own unique challenges. A changing climate, depleting forests, vulnerable traditions, disappearing rivers, and governments looking at land, water, forests, which are the cornerstones of mountain life, as a resources to be exploited for wealth creation. And it is essential that the younger generations who are thinking about these issues come together on a platform to further build their perspective collectively.

The Process

A diverse palette of issues ranging from history, culture, ecology, economics and identity to paradigms around development, diversity and context shall be explored through talks, discussions, activities, field visits, performances, manual labour, open spaces and silence.

Who can participate:

• Individuals/ teams from various walks of life associated with the Himalayan region, representing not just the various political states and countries geographically within the Himalayan ranges, but also smaller socio-cultural groups from Himachal Pradesh (including Lahual-Spiti), Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Pakistan.
• Age: between 20 to 30 years (with exceptions as needed) with experience engaging with, or concern regarding issues related to the region in question

Program Fees:

The total cost to Sambhaavnaa for the 10 days workshop per participant comes to 6000/-. Need-based financial assistance is available. Do not let your inability to pay, be the reason for not applying! (You can select options for full or partial fee waiver in the application form.)
