Medha Patkar

Medha Patkar is a social activist and social reformer turned politician. She is the founding member of Narmada Bachao Andolan and was National Convener of National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM), an alliance of progressive people’s organisations. She was a representative to the World Commission on Dams, to research the environmental, social and economic impacts of the development of large dams globally. National Alliance of People’s Movements, the organisation she leads, filed public interest litigation in the Bombay High Court against Lavasa.

At Sambhaavnaa, she facilitates the Nayi Dishayein programs.
