दोस्तों,
प्रतिरोध का सिनेमा अभियान संभावना इंस्टीट्यूट के सहयोग से डॉक्यूमेंट्री और वैकल्पिक फिल्मों के माध्यम से सिनेमा के प्रति उत्साही लोगों के लिए ‘सिनेमा कैसे देखे और दिखाए’ विषय पर चार दिवसीय कार्यशाला का आयोजन कर रहा है। यदि आप किसी समुदाय या सिनेमा स्क्रीनिंग कलेक्टिव के साथ काम कर रहे हैं और राजनीतिक चेतना के लिए दर्शकों के साथ जुड़ने और न्याय और लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों से संबंधित मुद्दों को उठाने के लिए इस माध्यम का उपयोग करना चाहते हैं, तो यह कार्यशाला आपको ऐसी गतिविधियां करने के लिए जमीनी जानकारी, प्रक्रिया और माध्यम से अवगत कराएगी।
आजकल सिनेमा तक पहुंचने के लिए फ्री में अनगिनत ऑनलाइन पोर्टल्स है, जो कई चीज़ों से भरे हुए है लेकिन हम कुछ विशेष सिनेमा तक ही अपनी पहुँच बना पाते है.हम सिनेमा की दुनिया के बारे में कैसे जान सकते हैं या देख सकते हैं जो हमें मिल रहा है, उससे अलग है? डॉक्यूमेंट्री फिल्म निर्माताओं, सिनेप्रेमियों और सिनेमा कलेक्टिव्स के सदस्यों के साथ ये चार दिन सामूहिक रूप से फिल्मों की स्क्रीनिंग उन पर बातचीत, देखने का आनंद आप सभी के लिए एक नई दुनिया खोलेंगे।
यह तीसरी कार्यशाला है जिसे हम संभावना में आयोजित कर रहे हैं और हमें यह बताते हुए खुशी हो रही है कि हमने वहां जो बातचीत शुरू की वह एक बार की बैठक की जगह अब आगे बढ़ गई है|
विभिन्न इलाकों में सामूहिक स्क्रीनिंग के लिए जगह बनाने और युवाओं को इससे जुड़ने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने की बढ़ती जरुरत को ध्यान में रखते हुए, हम पिट्ठू सिनेमा नामक एक पहल शुरू कर रहे हैं। इसके तहत, हम युवाओं को पूर्णकालिक सिनेफेलो के रूप में 1-2 महीने की अवधि के लिए देश भर के विभिन्न स्थानों पर नियमित स्क्रीनिंग और प्रतिरोध का सिनेमा अभियान का हिस्सा बनने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करेंगे। हम प्रतिभागियों के साथ इस कार्यक्रम की क्षमता और संभावनाओं पर विचार करने के लिए इस सिनेमा कार्यशाला को एक स्थान के रूप में उपयोग करने की उम्मीद भी करते हैं।
कार्यक्रम के उद्देश्य:
- भारत में विभिन्न सिनेमा सामूहिकों के इतिहास और प्रभाव का अवलोकन करने के लिए।
- प्रतिभागियों को सामूहिक फिल्म स्क्रीनिंग करने और विभिन्न मुद्दों पर बातचीत शुरू करने के लिए प्रशिक्षित करना।
- संचलन में दृश्य-श्रव्य सामग्री के बारे में सतर्क रहने के लिए दिशा निर्दिष्ट करना।
- उन फिल्मों और वीडियो को साझा करने के लिए जिन्हें उनके कार्यक्षेत्र में प्रदर्शित किया जा सकता है।
कौन आवेदन कर सकता है: हम विशेष रूप से उन लोगों से आवेदन पाने की उम्मीद करते है जो देश भर में सामाजिक आंदोलनों के साथ काम कर रहे हैं और सिखने को तत्पर हो कि अपने उद्देश्य और विज़न को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए सिनेमा का उपयोग कैसे करें। अन्य सिने प्रेमी भी आवेदन कर सकते है।

कार्यशाला के लिए योगदान राशि कार्यशाला में जुड़ने के लिए सहयोग राशि के रूप में रूपए 4,200/- दे सकते हैं. इसमें आपके रहने खाने और कार्यशाला में इस्तेमाल होने वाली सभी सामग्री का मूल्य शामिल है|. जो साथी यह शुल्क देने में असमर्थ हैं वो आंशिक योगदान कर सकते हैं | आर्थिक सहयोग की आवश्यकता को आवेदन पत्र में यह स्पष्ट कर दें।

स्रोत व्यक्ति
अमुधन आर.पी. एक दस्तावेजी फिल्म निर्माता और मीडिया कार्यकर्ता हैं। स्थानीय युवाओं के साथ, उन्होंने एक मीडिया सक्रियता समूह मारुपक्कम की स्थापना की, जो मदुरै और उसके आसपास दस्तावेज बनाने, नियमित स्क्रीनिंग, फिल्म समारोह और मीडिया कार्यशालाओं का आयोजन करने में शामिल है। उन्होंने 1998 में मदुरै अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दस्तावेजी और लघु फिल्म महोत्सव की स्थापना की।
संजय जोशी एक पूर्णकालिक सिनेमा ऑफ रेजिस्टेंस एक्टिविस्ट हैं और नवारुण प्रकाशन भी चलाते हैं।
देबलीना मजूमदार एक फिल्म निर्माता और कैमरापर्सन हैं, जिन्होंने फीचर-लेंथ डॉक्यूमेंट्री फिल्मों, लघु फिल्मों, यात्रा वृत्तांतों, संगीत वीडियो, कॉर्पोरेट फिल्मों, टेलीफिल्म्स और प्रायोगिक फिल्मों पर काम किया है। वह पर्यावरण के मुद्दों, जेंडर और सेक्सुअलिटी के बारे में जुनूनी हैं और कभी-कभी समाचार पत्रों और पत्रिकाओं के लिए लिखती हैं।
नकुल सिंह साहनी एक डाक्यूमेंट्री फिल्म निर्माता और ‘चल चित्र अभियान’ के संस्थापक हैं, यह एक मीडिया पहल है जो स्थानीय समुदाय के लोगो को अपने स्थानीय मुद्दों पर रिपोर्ट करने के लिए प्रशिक्षित करती है। सी.सी.ए. मुख्य रूप से लघु-दस्तावेज़ फिल्मों, समाचार कार्यक्रम और लाइव प्रसारण सहित वीडियो-आधारित सामग्री का उत्पादन करता है और यह उन समूहों में से एक है जो बड़े पैमाने पर किसान आंदोलन को कवर कर रहा है।

The Cinema of Resistance campaign in association with Sambhaavnaa Institute is organizing a four-day workshop on ‘Cinema of Resistance’ for film enthusiasts using the medium of documentary and alternate films. If you are involved in working with communities or part of cinema collectives and want to use this medium to engage with the audience for political consciousness and raise issues pertaining to justice and democratic values, this workshop will equip you with the tools to do the same.
In spite of the access to free sources of cinema online and the overflow of material through various online portals, the kind of movies we end up watching is of a certain kind. How do we know about or see a world of cinema that is different from what is ‘provided’ to us? These four days with documentary filmmakers, cinephiles and members of cinema collectives will open the world to the joy and meaning of screening and watching films collectively.
This is the third workshop we are organising at Sambhaavna and we are happy to say that the conversations we have had there have extended beyond a one-time meeting space and have led to longer associations. In light of the increasing need for creating spaces to have collective screenings and encouraging youngsters to be associated with it, we are starting an initiative called Pittu Cinema. Under this, we are encouraging young people to be part of CoR for a period of 1-2 months as full-time cinefellows and be part of organsing regular screenings at various locations across India. We hope to use this workshop as a space to ideate on the potential and possibilities of this programme with the participants.
Who can apply: We invite applications, especially from those who are working with social movements across the country, and learning how to use cinema to further your cause and vision.

Objectives of the Programme:
- To give an overview of the history and impact of various cinema collectives in India
- To train the participants in doing collective film screenings and initiate conversations on various issues
- To orient them to be alert about audiovisual content in circulation
To share films and videos that can be screened in their area of work
Resource People:
- Amudhan R. P. is a documentary filmmaker and media activist. Along with local youth, he founded Marupakkam, a media activism group that is involved with making documentaries, organising regular screenings, film festivals, and media workshops in and around Madurai. He founded Madurai International Documentary and Short Film Festival in 1998.
- Sanjay Joshi is a full-time Cinema of Resistance activist and also runs a publication house Navarun.
- Debalina Majumdar is a filmmaker and cameraperson who has worked on feature-length documentary films, short films, travelogues, music videos, corporate films, telefilms, and experimental films. She is passionate about environmental issues, gender, and sexuality and occasionally writes for newspapers and magazines.
- Nakul Singh Sawhney is a documentary filmmaker and founder of the Chal Chitra Abhiyan, a media initiative that trains local community members to report on local issues. CCA primarily produces video-based content including short-document films, news features, and live broadcasts, and is one of the groups that has been covering the Kisan Andolan extensively.

Contribution towards Programs Costs:
We hope that each participant would contribute an amount of Rs. 4,200 /- towards the workshop expenses, inclusive of all on-site workshop costs: boarding, lodging, and all the materials used in the workshop. Need-based partial waivers are available, especially for people from marginalized communities. We have a very limited number of partial waivers, so, please apply for a waiver only if you really need it. Please do remember that there may be others who need it more than you.
